Unmasked: What Does Science Really Say About Masks

The average citizen remains confused as the health authorities flip flop directions concerning the wearing of masks.”

Post Covid: the war has been won, and like in most wars shots have been fired—in this case at least four billion of them. Victory Day is a day of celebration even though the surroundings may be in ruin from the years of battle; now restrictions have been lifted, leaving one’s home, and going for dinner is now permitted, sporting events and concerts now allow fans to attend in person, air travel is unrestricted and the boarders are open for travel. Everything seems to have returned to normal yet it feels as if mourning a loved one as you move forward, carrying the memories of how things were before the battle started while in the back your mind anticipating it will happen again.

Recently when I was grocery shopping, I saw a young father, with his infant son sitting in the cart, both wearing face masks. No health warnings were in place yet sporadically people were still wearing masks. I noticed that most were either seniors or school aged children while those in-between these ages remained maskless. I used to approach certain people while wearing masks, mainly those struggling or looking fearful and I would ask what they were hoping to accomplish wearing the mask and they all felt it made them feel safe and gave another layer of protection.

I have seen many viral outbreaks while in practice, those sickly with the flu or seasonal cold was the norm. We lived through two bouts of the corona virus, both SARS and MERS, as natural immunity created the antibodies and herd immunity and life moved on. When sick stay at home, bundle up and sweat it out, drink plenty of fluids, increase vitamin C and D and eat chicken noodle soup while your body recovers back to healthy state.

The approach to COVID-19 completely changed all things that had worked in the past and suddenly everything we had learned to rely on concerning natural immunity was being questioned. Our medical doctors’ advise was overshadowed by privately owned health authorizes such as WHO or CDC who influenced government authorities such as the FDA and Health Canada. These trusted groups only speak when they have gathered all the documentation and once fully assured, they then share their advice to the public. In retrospect, these trusted sources did not do their due diligence—this was discovered when the Pfizer spokesperson said their jabs were not tested to prevent viral transmission, which is the very foundation for their administration.

How could the public know when the information was constantly changing creating  confusion, they could only do what they could while reading between the lines. One example is when the World Health Organization changed their recommendation regarding face masks over time. “There is no specific evidence to suggest that the wearing of masks by the mass population has any potential benefit. In fact, there’s some evidence to suggest the opposite in the misuse of wearing a mask properly or fitting it properly,” said Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO health emergencies program in March 2020. Only two months later, at the beginning of June, the WHO changed its advice and claimed that facial masks should be worn in public where social distancing is not possible. The WHO was not alone in recommendation of face masks; in fact many medical and political leaders supported wearing them at that time.

Yet questions arise regarding the effectiveness of face masks, especially cloth and other homemade masks. According to the online report Effectiveness of Cloth Masks for Protection Against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2, “the filtration effectiveness of cloth masks is generally lower than that of medical masks and respirators; however, cloth masks may provide some protection if well designed and used correctly.” Also the Government of Canada warns that “homemade masks are not medical devices and (…) may not be effective in blocking virus particles that may be transmitted by coughing, sneezing or certain medical procedures.” On their website they also claim that wearing a mask alone will not prevent the spread of COVID-19. This has been the concern of many public health groups as face masks could provide a false sense of security. Experts feared the masks could lead to more touching of the face or contamination in case the mask has been put down on an unclean surface. As experience shows, this fear has its grounds.

Up and down and all around, the average citizen remained confused as the health authorities flip flop directions concerning the wearing of masks, and most do not have a clue to the kinds of masks worn, no matter their effectiveness. If the person is sick, coughing and sneezing a cloth or surgical mask are designed to prevent droplet transmission, nasal mucus from spreading yet they do not stop the airborne viral particles. Common sense should prevail, when you are sick stay home and get well.

Inconsistencies are not the biggest concerns, safety, and health, on the other hand are. A British medical study, based on a randomized trial compared the efficacy of cloth masks to medical masks in healthcare workers (HCWs). The hypothesis was that there is no difference between medical masks and cloth masks though the trial proved otherwise. Results showed that the rates of all infection outcomes were highest in the cloth masks. Penetration of cloth masks by particles was almost 97% and medical masks 44%. The results caution against the use of cloth masks and suggest further research. However, as a precautionary measure, cloth masks should not be recommended for HCWs, particularly in high-risk situations, and guidelines need to be updated.[1]

Unfortunately, this is not where it all ends. Many medical experts claim that wearing face masks is harmful to the wearer. It means that not only do face masks not protect you but they can limit your oxygen and even redirect harmful pathogens that you may be carrying back into your airway. According to a video of Dr. Margarite Griesz-Brisson MD, PhD (a Consultant Neurologist and Neurophysiologist with a PhD in Pharmacology, with special interest in neurotoxicology, environmental medicine, neuroregeneration and neuroplasticity), masks and their effects on our brains could be much more serious than we thought.

“The re-breathing of our exhaled air will without a doubt create oxygen deficiency and a flooding of carbon dioxide. We know that the human brain is very sensitive to oxygen deprivation. There are nerve cells for example in the hippocampus, that can’t be longer than 3 minutes without oxygen – they cannot survive.

The acute warning symptoms are headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, issues in concentration, slowing down of the reaction time – reactions of the cognitive system.

However, when you have chronic oxygen deprivation, all of those symptoms disappear, because you get used to it. But your efficiency will remain impaired, and the undersupply of oxygen in your brain continues to progress.”[2]

Dr. Griesz-Brisson is definitely not the only one warning us, other medical experts—like virus expert Dr. Judy Mikovits—say as well that masks can cause harm to wearers. According to Weblyf.com, in social media posts she has written: “Do you not know how unhealthy it is to keep inhaling your carbon dioxide and restricting proper oxygen flow? The body requires AMPLE amounts of oxygen for optimal immune health. Proper oxygenation of your cells and blood is ESSENTIAL for the body to function as it needs to in order to fight off any illness. Masks will hamper oxygen intake.”

Other experts have also warned the public against wearing facemasks as the virus can get trapped in the material and cause infection when the wearer breathes in. “By wearing a mask, the exhaled viruses will not be able to escape and will concentrate in the nasal passages, enter the olfactory nerves and travel into the brain” says board-certified neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock. In a new study of 12 face masks, every mask contained titanium dioxide (TiO2) particles—which is a known carcinogen—in at least one layer, at levels that “exceeded the acceptable exposure level.”[3]

One of our most important tasks is to be able to navigate among different types of contradictory information, question the questionable and remember what the long-known facts and logic tells us. We should also be aware of our actions and their long-term consequences because our health and future could be determined by them.

The best defense is a powerful offense—this means keeping our immune system strong by avoiding unfounded fear, making healthy choices concerning our diet, regular exercise, peaceful sleep and making up for the shortfalls with high quality naturopathic therapeutic medicine. To cover your bases use the Life Choice version of a one-a-day supplement Opti-Cal/Mag with K2, Super Multi-Vitamin, and to maintain your T-cells for improved immunity Thymus Gland and Immunity 4 in 1. For women it is especially important to maintain hormone balance with HGH+, Thyrodine Thyroid Gland and Progest Liposome Cream and for men with Fiery Male and HGH+.

At this junction in time we cannot rely on others for our health; our help rests within our two hands. We must come to the awareness that we are at war with the battle front being fought. Within the human mind and soul our protection must be full armor of defense to shield our way and to remain victorious.
