The (not so) Surprising Effects of DMSO and Vitamin C
"There are numerous preventative pathways for remaining healthy and the avoidance of disease, including cancer. It becomes critical to use products that can help treat the exposure and lifestyle related conditions such as DMSO and Pure Vitamin C."
In 2008, an article from the National Library of Medicine titled Cancer is a Preventable Disease that Requires Major Lifestyle Changes stated that "[o]nly 5–10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90–95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle"—including modern medicine and environmental toxins—which "provides major opportunities for preventing cancer."[1] Apparently, people chose not to seize this opportunity.
A lot has changed since 2008, and definitely not for the better: our environment has not got cleaner—now we have to face the negative effects of EMF exposure, or the Sun's coronal mass ejections entering the Earth due to our weaking magnetic shield—and our lifestyles have not improved either. No wonder that cancer claims more than 26 000 lives every day, according to WHO reports. "With an estimated 20.6 million new cases and close to 10 million deaths annually, cancer remains the second leading cause of death globally, after cardiovascular disease. (…) Without urgent action, annual cancer cases are projected to rise to nearly 35 million by 2050."[2]
According to an Environmental Health Sciences article[3] that uses data from previous research, exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) associated with data centers is linked to many potential health problems. EMF exposure—especially from extremely low frequency (ELF) fields generated by electrical infrastructure—is linked, among many others, to increased risks of cancers, including childhood leukemia as well as brain and breast cancers. Even air travel seems to be adding to the list of risks associated with cancer. "Building on previous epidemiologic research, a population-based study recently published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that aircrew members were more likely to die of radiation-related cancers than people with any other occupation."[4] Naturally, circadian rhythm disruption and UV-A exposure do not help the situation either.
The benefits of DMSO and vitamin C
The early clinical uses of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) started in the 1960s and they have generally fallen into three functional categories encompassing tissue/organ preservation, penetration-enhancing solvent excipients, and active pharmaceutical agents, primarily anti-inflammatory. DMSO is not only one of the most valuable transporters we have at our disposal for natural medicine, but it is also a mighty anti-inflammatory agent. When applied to the skin, it enters the bloodstream within 15 seconds. DMSO has a garlic smell when applied to the skin or taken internally, so the best way to control the odor is to take internally 5 ml of liquid chlorophyll to mask the odor.
DMSO was also clinically studied on front line COVID-19 healthcare workers, and it was found that intranasal inhalation spray may destroy the viruses' structure, break the virus transmission chain, and reduce the pathogenicity risk. The nasal spray composed of DMSO and ethanol caused a total turmoil in the breeding and replicating virus herd inside the nasopharynx and throat. The study was performed at the Shahroud University of Medical Sciences in Iran and came to the conclusion that "combined application of DMSO and ethanol in healthcare providers can considerably prevent COVID-19."[5]
Vitamin C has been used intravenously for treating cancer without side effects. "[A]n increasing number of preclinical studies have demonstrated that high-dose vitamin C exhibits selective anti-tumor effects, including 'pro-oxidative cytotoxicity', 'anti-cancer epigenetic regulation', and 'immune modulation'. Consequently, vitamin C has reemerged as a promising anti-cancer therapy in the form of high-dose administration. (…) Moreover, its use as an adjuvant therapy in combination with standard treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, has shown promising therapeutic potential."[6]
Because vitamin C is water-soluble, it is easily accessible to cells or organs. "Therefore, vitamin C is superior in preventing oxidative damage to the body compared to other antioxidant vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin E, or β–carotene, which are lipid soluble."[7] These antioxidants have their own roles in preventing oxidative damage in the deepest part of the body but in the process many kinds of radicals are generated. "Those radicals should be regenerated to the safe original form very quickly and without any damage to the body by the water-soluble and least toxic radical generating antioxidant, otherwise known as vitamin C. (…) [People] should take an excessive amount of vitamin C so that their body is fully saturated with vitamin C before they take other antioxidant vitamins, such as vitamin A, vitamin E, and β-carotene."[8]
DMSO and vitamin C in cancer treatment
In an "open-label study, 17 patients with 27 histologically confirmed SCCIS [squamous cell carcinoma in situ] lesions applied 30% ascorbic acid in DMSO topically twice daily for 12 weeks. Lesion size and histologic resolution were assessed by repeat biopsy at week 12. (…) Complete histologic resolution occurred in 15 of 27 lesions (56%), while 44% of lesions showed >85% reduction in size. The mean reduction in lesion area was 71%. Only 2 lesions (7%) failed to respond. Most residual lesions demonstrated actinic atypia without carcinoma and were successfully treated with cryotherapy. No patients discontinued due to adverse effects. Ninety- four percent of participants (16/17) avoided surgical excision. Topical 30% ascorbic acid in DMSO demonstrated promising efficacy and excellent tolerability in the treatment of SCCIS, offering a potential noninvasive alternative to surgery. Larger, controlled trials are warranted."[9]
DMSO was used as a skin-penetration enhancer because it can temporarily alter the lipid structure of the outer skin barrier, helping a water-soluble compound such as vitamin C penetrate more effectively into the treated lesion.
Life Choice DMSO is medicinal grade at 90% dilution with 10% purified water, and our Pure Vitamin C is 500 mg, non-GMO. The protocol would be to mix in a glass container 10 ml of liquid DMSO with 6 Pure Vitamin C capsules opened and added to the DMSO liquid. Using a clean brush or with clean hands apply the mixture over the lesions, lumps or tumors and allow to air dry. I use this combination all the time for many things, including reducing varicose veins and bites, burns and bruising.
The system is stacked against society but for those who are enlightened there are numerous preventative pathways for remaining healthy and the avoidance of disease, including cancer. It becomes critical to use products that can help treat the exposure and lifestyle related conditions such as DMSO and Pure Vitamin C.
Life Choice DMSO
Life Choice DMSO is 100% pure pharmaceutical grade, not the industrial solvent grade. The worry with solvent grade is the level of purity since DMSO is a deep penetrating transporter any toxic residue can easily be absorbed into the lower dermis. In addition, those who are allergic to sulfa drugs may have problems with solvent grade DMSO.
Life Choice Pure Vitamin C – Quali C
Life Choice® Pure Vitamin C – Quali C is made from the purest Vitamin C on the planet. It is the best quality, pure and easily absorbed ascorbic acid sourced from non-GMO corn and manufactured in Scotland.
