The Many Benefits of Oral Chelation Therapy

“Oral chelation using CLAW Therapy with medicinal EDTA functions as a therapeutic agent and prevention of the formation of disease.”

In previous newsletters we have mentioned the number of advantages of CLAW Therapy with medicinal grade ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA). As established, heavy metal toxicity can disrupt brain chemistry, leading to depression and anxiety, while also weakening the immune system. Oral chelation therapy, derived from the Greek word chele (meaning “to claw” or “to bind”), helps the body eliminate harmful metals, and it is known to help reverse atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) by removing calcium from arterial plaque. In essence, by improving circulation it may reduce the need for bypass surgery, reverse gangrene, ease leg cramps (intermittent claudication), and enhance memory. Additionally, by clearing toxic metal ions, oral chelation therapy helps reduce inflammation caused by free radicals, potentially alleviating symptoms of degenerative diseases like arthritis, scleroderma (hardening of skin and organs) and lupus.[1]

Initially used to treat heavy metal poisoning, EDTA chelation has since been recognized for its potential in improving cardiovascular health. Chelation therapy offers a safe and effective approach to detoxification and overall health improvement.

CLAW Therapy therapeutic possibilities – removing heavy metals and microplastics

Over the past century, industrial societies have seen a massive rise in environmental toxins from sources like vehicle emissions, power plants, pesticides, fracking, radiation exposure, and modern technologies. These pollutants release harmful metal toxins that enter the human body through various means, negatively impacting major organs and systems. As a result, a wide range of health issues—including insomnia, anxiety, heart disease, muscle pain, allergies, obesity, dementia, cancer, and neurological disorders—have become increasingly common. The growing presence of these toxins poses a serious threat to overall health and well-being.

Another area of concern is the new discovery that most people on the planet have the weight of a plastic teaspoon of micro- and nanoplastics in their brains.[2] Chelating agents—substances like EDTA and malic acid can bind to certain toxins and help remove them from the body. While primarily used for heavy metals, chelation therapy may have potential for microplastics, but more research is needed.

We are becoming aware of the risks plastics can have on human health, this is why we at Life Choice have selected the type of packaging we have: PET bottles, as they have less leaching compared to HDPE (high-density polyethylene), and organic cotton because synthetic rayon is toxic. Vegetarian capsules rather than animal derived gelatin. For our homeopathic formulas like HGH+ and Lithium and also our Kava liquid we use glass. DMSO is a very powerful product, true medicinal grade is essential and for packaging, it must be in glass containers and glass droppers. DMSO, if put in certain plastic bottles, will dissolve the entire package within 2 weeks so whatever you do, please do not use DMSO from plastic containers because it will contain microplastics.

Microplastics are widespread environmental pollutants that have entered the human body through multiple pathways. Although completely removing them is difficult, minimizing exposure and supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes can help reduce their health effects. Making informed decisions about diet, personal care products, and household items allows individuals to take proactive measures against potential risks. Continued research and innovation will be essential in developing more effective solutions to combat this growing health issue and protect future generations from the harmful impacts of plastic pollution.

We are bombarded from the bioaccumulation of heavy metals and chemical toxicity every day. Neurotoxicity can be caused by numerous direct agents, of which toxic metals, organophosphorus pesticides, air pollution, radiation and electromagnetic fields, neurotoxins, chemotherapeutic and anesthetic drugs, and pathogens are the most important. Other indirect causes of neurotoxicity are cytokine and/or reactive oxygen species production and adoptive immunotherapy. The development of neurodegenerative diseases is nothing new, we also know that it has been associated with neurotoxicity. The chelating agents of EDTA, malic acid and pure vitamin C —previously used to treat cardiovascular diseases—is known to be useful for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. With microplastics accumulation in the human brain, liver and kidneys we need to be vigilant in removing these toxins. Oral chelation using CLAW Therapy with medicinal EDTA functions as a therapeutic agent and prevention of the formation of disease.

What is CLAW Therapy?

CLAW Therapy with EDTA can help safely remove heavy metals and inorganic minerals without impacting your kidneys, liver or bowels, for total body improvements and without any side effects or healing crises when incorporating Opti-Cal/Mag complex with K2.

CLAW Therapy is a combination of chelating agents in which the central atom (usually a metal ion) is attached to neighboring atoms by at least two bonds in such a way as to form a ring structure. Chelation is the process in which the metal ion reacts with another molecule to form the chelate. EDTA (ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid) is an amino acid. It was first synthesized in Germany in 1935, and first patented in the U.S. in 1941.

Chelation therapy itself can be understood simply as the removal of inorganic calcium deposits from your arteries, brain and joints. These and other harmful minerals promote blood clotting and atherosclerosis. Harmful deposits cause excessive free radical production. EDTA chelation is a powerful free radical destroyer while protecting cell membranes. In addition, it is protecting the DNA, enzymes, and lipoproteins and effective functioning molecules. Chelation promotes anti-aging, the energizing effect increases oxygenation as the EDTA “resuscitates” your cells’ mitochondria. When your mitochondria functions at peak efficiency, they become the “power plants” of every cell in the body—the energy-producing ATP is generated. Without ATP, life can not exist, and through premature aging mitochondrial function is diminished. It has long been considered as one of the primary causes of the aging process.

According to a research article from Science Advances[3], the ADP/ATP carrier in mitochondria helps transport energy by bringing ADP in and sending ATP out. This process is influenced by electric charges within the carrier, which help push ADP in and ATP out while preventing their reverse movement. The membrane’s electrical field plays a key role by boosting ATP export and ADP import, ensuring high energy availability for the cell. This mechanism allows mitochondria to efficiently produce and distribute ATP, fueling essential cellular activities.

Another benefit of the CLAW Therapy with EDTA and malic acid is the price: for someone 40 years of age it will cost about $600 which is much more affordable than the $4,000 to $6,000 for IV methods, although not the same but similar. It is also convenient, as you can do the whole therapy from the privacy of your home by taking 3 capsules twice per day and replacement minerals to the ones chelated.

Ingredients in CLAW Therapy:

L-Carnitine: Regulates fat metabolism, and also acts as a carrier of fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they are oxidized and converted to energy. It also facilitates the removal of short and medium chain fatty acids from the mitochondria. It can increase endurance and enhance the normal functioning of the heart.

Pantothenic acid: Important to metabolize carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. It also helps synthesize hormones and cholesterol.

Vitamin K2: Known as a procoagulant and may be useful for atherosclerosis, heart disease, nausea, and osteoporosis. Deficiency can cause bleeding. Vitamin K2 showed great potential for Parkinson’s disease, which is associated with malfunctioning mitochondria. When brain cells do not have enough energy, they begin to die off, disrupting signals and causing movement impediments.

Hawthorn: Used to support the heart’s metabolic process and to increase oxygen utilization and blood supply, which enables the body to maintain healthy blood pressure levels. It also provides nourishment to the body, which helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels and decreases the amount of existing arterial plaque. It also increases energy production in the heart so that it can contract more forcefully and maintain a steadier rhythm.

L-Arginine: Reduces blood platelet aggregation, which reduces the build-up of cholesterol along arterial walls. It stimulates lymphocyte (white blood cell) production to support the body’s immune system. It also supports blood circulation to the genitals.

Magnesium (orotate): Helps to maintain proper electrolyte levels, a regular heartbeat and healthy blood pressure. It works in conjunction with other minerals such as calcium and potassium to facilitate proper neurological, muscular and cardiovascular function. Magnesium and potassium are important for establishing the proper ionic equilibrium of the two minerals. These minerals form a fully reacted chelate.

Coenzyme Q10: A potent, fat-soluble antioxidant that helps to protect cellular membranes. Also offers protection against potent low-density lipoprotein (LDL) peroxidation, a process that causes LDL molecules to adhere to artery walls, causing cholesterol deposits. CoQ10 provides nourishment for the body’s natural defense system and support for healthy cardiovascular function and blood pressure levels. It also supports healthy gum tissue.

Guggul extract: Lowers VLDL and LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while simultaneously raising HDL cholesterol which indicates that it is effective against atherosclerosis. The thyroid is stimulated to increase the body’s metabolic rate and the liver is stimulated to metabolize LDL cholesterol, effectively lowering the amount in the bloodstream. Guggul provides regression of pre-existing plaques, plus mildly inhibiting platelet aggregation and promoting fibrinolysis—factors involved in stroke and embolic events.

Potassium: Important for a healthy nervous system and for regular heart rhythm. It helps prevent stroke, aids in proper muscle contraction, and works together with magnesium to prevent calcium-oxalate kidney stones.

Selenium: Inhibits the oxidation of lipids (fats) and is used in the production of antibodies to help maintain a healthy heart and liver. Selenium deficiency has been linked to cancer and heart disease.

Folate (5-MHTF): It is needed for energy production and the formation of red blood cells. Folic acid regulates homocysteine levels. High levels of homocysteine have been found to be associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries due to the accumulation of fatty plaque).

Vitamin B12: Important in helping the body to create new red blood cells, which transport oxygen throughout the body. Signs of low B12 levels include light-headedness and weakness.

Non-Medicinal Ingredients:

EDTA: Used to rid the body of excess toxins, particularly metals such as cadmium, lead and mercury. These toxic metals enter the body through food, water, and other means. EDTA draws out these toxic metals and excretes them via the kidneys. Oral chelation can often prevent problems from occurring by restoring circulation to the body’s tissues.

Malic acid: Present in all living cells and is essential for converting sugars and fats into ATP. It supports the energy production that is important for proper muscle function, acts as a catalyst to the Krebs cycle by producing energy from the burning of pyruvic acid. Malic acid has traditionally been used for stress, tender points, pain, persistent fatigue, muscular pain, arthritic-like symptoms, and for recovery from exercise.

Medicinal Claims

  • Helps to maintain and/or support cardiovascular health.
  • L-Arginine is a non-essential amino acid that is involved in protein synthesis.
  • Helps the body to metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
  • Helps to form red blood cells and in tissue formation.
  • A factor in the maintenance of good health.

One other thing that needs to be mentioned with chelation therapy is the replacement of the minerals since chelation removes both the organic and inorganic minerals. Chelation therapy needs to be gradual, so the displaced minerals do not impact the filtering organs: kidneys, liver or the bowels. Oral chelation duration is best calculated by a person’s age: one bottle (180 capsules), the dosage is 6 capsules per day per. One bottle should be taken for every 10 years of age, so e.g. a 40-year person would require 4 bottles taking 4 months to complete the therapy.

Flushing Out Toxins:

It is important to help flush the toxins while on CLAW Therapy by drinking 2 to 3 liters of purified water per day while on the treatment protocol.
