Remaining Healthy in This Day and Age

“There is potential harm from high dose toxic ingredients, unabsorbed they can impact the liver, kidneys and gall bladder. This is why it is important to distinguish between natural and synthetic supplements.”

There are two choices: we either live our life without precautions or live our life with the awareness of our vulnerability. Life without precaution seems exciting, like the actor James Dean used to say “Live fast, die young, and leave a good-looking corpse.” Mr. Dean died at the age of 24 in an auto accident. On the same point, you do not want to live your life like some worrywart and let life pass you by, what a waste that would be. The author John Bradshaw stated “a life not fully lived, a bulb never becoming a flower.” It is quite a visual statement as it emphasizes your potential and how it can be wasted. It is important to seize the day but keep in mind that there are more days to follow.

Don’t you hate hypocrites and liars, people in authority, in positions of trust who suppress the truth for power and greed? The politicians in Canada brag of having a universal Medicare system—hopefully you will not die before getting treated. It is called Pharma Care but the problem is pharma does not care. According to Statistics Canada, “the 2022 Mental Health and Access to Care Survey (MHACS), 18.3% of Canadians aged 15 years and older met diagnostic criteria for a mood, anxiety, or substance use disorder in the 12 months before the survey.”[1] In Canada, an estimated 1.2 million children and youth, or about 1 in 5, experience mental illness or a mental health disorder. This includes conditions like ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, and behavior disorders. Approximately 70% of mental illness symptoms begin before the age of 18.[2] Rather than treating the core of the illness it looks like the government has a very different solution in mind from what you would think appropriate. Did you know that there is a Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) Activity Book? It looks like a children’s workbook, colorful, understanding and engaging, suggesting that it is all good to die.[3]

An article posted in Your News, Canada Sparks Outrage Over Push to Expand Euthanasia Access to “Mature Minors” Without Parental Consent quotes Jasmine Laine about the fact that “[y]ou have to be a special kind of demonic to advocate for MAID for young vulnerable people and people who are suicidal. (…) Imagine walking into a clinic for help, and being told the world would be better off without you… that you should cave to the lies the devil on your shoulder is telling you and it would be more affordable for Canada’s healthcare system if you were gone.”[4] The 2027 expansion deadline is approaching and it brings debate over the ethics, risks, and consequences of MAID for minors both in Canada and globally. Some healthcare plan we have. The way the medical system is run, this is the results of how treatment of young people is delivered, it is not working. I have a suggestion, pay for access and treatment to naturopathic doctors, they know what to do, first thing is examining their diet, weaning them off toxic drugs and discovering the root cause of their illness. Instead, our medical system treats our youth in their lowest state and offer them MAID, not because this is the best solution but it is the quickest and most cost affordable way to remove the responsibility of Pharma Care and to sweep them under the rug. For your information, Canada is the leader, having one of the highest rates of euthanasia in the world. In 2023, MAID accounted for 4.7% of all deaths in Canada, deaths aided by doctors. “The precipitous growth that we’ve had is unparalleled anywhere.”

Naturally, problems occur on multiple levels, making the situation more and more difficult for both the people who want to stay healthy and the natural health product manufacturers to keep going. With Health Canada’s Self-Care Framework for example, it is “increasingly difficult and expensive for small and medium-sized companies to keep natural health products on the market. This government initiative claims to “harmonize” the regulation of natural health products with that of pharmaceutical drugs. But, natural health products are nothing like synthetic pharmaceutical drugs and should not be regulated in the same way.”[5]

Based on a report prepared for Health Canada and data from 2010 we know that natural health products are widely used in Canada, with about 73% of Canadians (the number is probably even higher in 2025) reporting their use, yet the businesses that produce them often lack the financial resources and patent protections available to pharmaceutical companies. This is why critics argue that Health Canada’s regulatory changes—though intended to protect public safety—may actually endanger Canadians by limiting access to these products and pushing people toward pharmaceutical drugs that often come with serious side effects while natural products have a very safe history of use.

For some reason though, very different information is being pushed on platforms whose content has nothing to do with health related subjects. You might be asking, what is up with National Geographic, for example, since when did they begin sharing posts and studies on health as they did on February 14, 2025. Their article Liver problems linked to supplement use are on the rise—here’s why starts with the statement that “[m]ore than half of adults in the United States today take supplements to “treat” nearly every health issue or psychological woe under the sun.”[6] It seems so out of place for National Geographic to focus on taking vitamins that it arises the question, who paid to have this attack article written?

The trickiest part is that there is some merit in what the article is stating. We have also written articles on the dangers of low quality chemically laden supplements, that high doses are needed since only 20% get absorbed to the cellular level, the remaining 80%  impact the body in a negative way since they are seen as toxins. Multivitamins are a good example, vitamin A, iron, and calcium can be harmful in large quantities. They can be toxic since they are produced from coal tar and synthetic chemicals.   There is potential harm from high dose toxic ingredients, unabsorbed they can impact the liver, kidneys and gall bladder. This is why it is important to distinguish between natural and synthetic supplements.

As you can see, the plant-based vitamins are in their active state for cellular absorption, without the necessity of first converting within the body as synthetic B’s. Next Generation Super Multi-Vitamin Complex is your best protection against elevated levels of the amino acid homocysteine—in excess it can increase your risk of mood disorders, poor mental performance, and mental illness such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
